Streets of Bangkok
Back in 2008 was my first solo travel experience. I was bold and chose Thailand. I had over a week exploring Bangkok before meeting friends in Phuket. The streets of Bangkok were interesting and sparked a feeling of wonder for exploration that never faded. It took ten years after that experience for me to solo travel again. This painting is a reference from a photograph I took of a monk walking through the busy street. I was fascinated by him and the way he stood out to me. I wanted to tell someone, anyone, that there was a monk in front of me—a sight my unseasoned explorer eyes had never seen… But alas to the residents, he was just another monk crossing the street.
